Dr. Kristin Nesburn

ABOUT YOUR DOCTOR

Dr. Nesburn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brown University in 1990.  In 1995, she received her medical degree from the university of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where she was elected to membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society  she completed an internship in the internal medicine at Stanford University Medical Center and received her ophthalmology training at the University of California San Francisco.

Dr. Nesburn has conducted important research in the fields of genetics and eye disease, ocular tumors, and the ocular side effects of organ transplantation.  she has presented this research at several scientific meetings including the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), the Frederick C. Cortes Eye Society, and the Pacific Coast Oto-Ophthalmological Society.  She has also co-authored several articles that have been published in Nature Genetics, Genome research, and the Journal of Ophthalmic Nursing and Technology.

An avid skier, runner, and roller blader, Dr. Nesburn also enjoys movies, theatre and travel.  Recent travel adventures have included excursions to Alaska and the Far East.  After years away, she has returned to her native Los Angeles where she is excited to be joining her father and the other excellent physicians and staff at the American Eye Institute.
