Job Opening: Medical Scientist/Ophthalmology
- Duties: Conduct Ophthalmic Clinical research as per Sponsor's developed protocols. Develop protocols when a clinical trial is self sponsored. Plan & direct studies to assess treatment of ophthalmic diseases which include recruitment of patients, initial assessment and recommendation regarding inclusion/exclusion from study. It includes ongoing interaction with patients, initial assessment of adverse effects by the investigators. Modify protocol as per the local Institutional Review Board (IRB) template and coordinate between sponsors and IRB as per each modification. Manage study databases either by using generic or sponsor proprietary software. Data can be verbal, numerical or digital/photographic. Ability to interact with study sponsors and IRB with respect to the statistical analysis of the database and its interpretation. Follow safety procedures for collecting, harvesting, storing and shipping human specimens. Interact with Physician principal investigators and or co/investigators and brief them of any sponsor induced change in protocol and of sponsor reported adverse reactions and serious adverse reactions. Manage drug inventory and dispense drugs and/or placebo according to a masking schedule as per protocol. Confer with sponsors, institutional review board, DSMB, regarding progress of studies and reporting of adverse and serious adverse events.
- Requirements: M.D. degree plus1 year experience in Ophthalmic research or 2 years in Ophthalmic surgery.
